Award Information

  • M.M. Bullard Award— gives special recognition to a gas utility manager.
  • H.B. Rosson Award— gives special recognition to a water utility manager.
  • Everett Severs Award—awarded for excellence in water treatment.
  • Wastewater Operator of the Year —awarded for excellence in wastewater treatment.
  • Office Manager of the Year—awarded for excellence in office operations.
  • Associate Member of the Year—gives special recognition to an associate member whom has gone above and beyond in assisting Tennessee’s utilities.
Award Criteria: Please consider the following when selecting a TAUD member to nominate for an award:
  • Must be a current member of TAUD in good standing
  • Must be an active member of the Association. It is important they are respected among their industry peers, attend TAUD functions, meetings and training when applicable.
  • Should make considerable differences in their utility (i.e. policies, advancements, have longevity in the position of which they serve etc.).
  • When nominating for the Bullard or Rosson Award, the nominee should be in sound financial and operational compliance. Nominee should be dedicated to serving the public interest of the citizens in Tennessee.
  • When selecting a nominee for the Everett Severs or Wastewater Operator of the Year Awards, those nominating this individual should consider:
  1. The licenses and certifications of the nominee
  2. The length of time spent in the industry
  3. Dedication to improve operations within the system
  4. Is the nominee recognized and respected by his or her co-workers and industry peers?
  5. Is the nominee a person of integrity, character, and takes pride in his/her position?
Lastly, those completing applications should remember those selected are chosen by an Awards Committee. The committee receives numerous applications for each award. It is important that those nominating clearly articulate to this Committee their desire to see the nominee receive the award. The Committee is diligent in their efforts in selecting the most deserving candidate for each award. If you feel strongly that the individual you are nominating deserves the award, please take the time to explain and provide examples of the nominee’s merit.
